السواقي هي قنوات الماء الصغيرة التي تجري في حدائق بلادنا. جفت هذه الساحات، وأنت من يعيد إليها الماء: أدر الحجر، وحركه، واجعل الماء ينزل من النبع إلى كل نافورة، فتعود الخضرة حول الماء.

خمس ساحات حقيقية من تاريخ الماء عندنا: قنوات الأنباط في البتراء، وفناء البيت الدمشقي، ونواعير حماة، وبساتين غرناطة، وأفلاج عُمان في الليل. ولكل ساحة أدواتها: الناعورة ترفع الماء، والبوابات المتصلة توزعه، والبئران تحملانه تحت الأرض، والماءان يختلطان.

ومع كل شهر يصل نبع جديد من ينابيع الموسم: المطر، وساعات النهار، وسباق النبع، ولعبة لشخصين، وغيرها، حتى اثني عشر.

Bring water back to old courts

Sawaqi are the small stone channels that carry water through the gardens of the Levant. These courts have gone dry, and you bring the water back: turn the stones, slide them, and lead the water down from the spring to every fountain, while green comes back around it.

Five real places from the history of water: the Nabataean channels of Petra, a Damascene courtyard, the great wheels of Hama, the gardens of Granada and the aflaj of Oman by night. Each court has its own tools: wheels lift water, linked gates share it, wells carry it underground, and two waters blend into a third.

And every month a new Spring of the Season lands: rain, the hours of the day, a race, a game for two and more, twelve in all.
